Research Pathway of Le Wei and Issac on Tesla's Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Capability systems:

  1. Isaac saw a self driving car video on Youtube and wanted to research more about Tesla’s Self-driving technology.

  2. Le Wei asked ChatGPT for a summarised overview on Tesla’s autonomous self-driving technology.

  3. The team read up and research on our power source which is Tesla’s website.

  4. The team watch youtube videos to better visualise and understand the system and how it works.

  5. The team noted down the various features and functions of the system in a google docs.

  6. The team discussed about the pros and cons of the system.

  7. Isaac compared with systems from competitors such as General Motors, Waymo and Rivian to find which system is the most advanced.

  8. The team researched and gather facts and figures from other supporting websites.

  9. The team then compiled the research and write the summary
.                                                                                                                                                                    .

The following is the summarised 150 word paragraph as well as table 1 and figure 1 to better illustrate the Teslas's Full Self-Driving Capability System.

Tesla’s article “Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Capability”(2023) states that advanced driver assistance systems like Autopilot improves the comfort and safety of the driver while driving. Autopilot lessens the driver’s total workload when used appropriately. There are eight cameras on the outside of the car and advanced visual processing to give an extra measure of security. Instead of using the radar system, Tesla cars made for the North American market employ a camera-based Tesla Vision to provide autopilot features. Every brand new Tesla comes with autopilot as standard. Depending on when the car was manufactured, owners of older Tesla vehicles can purchase an upgrade package for vehicles built without the Autopilot system such as “Autopilot, Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving”. Autopilot, Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving are level 2 on SAE’s scale of autonomous Driving (wapcar.my,2023) meant to be used with a driver who is fit to drive as they are needed to take over at any given time. The Table Below explains the functions and features in each upgrade package. With several enhanced features, the self-driving system of tesla is Safer compared to conventional driving.
